What is a Food Business and what are the requirements for operation?

Health Services Food Hygiene Regulations 1969

​

Food Business means SUBJECT TO PARAGRAPH (2) (which states any process or  operation in the sale of food or in the preparation, transport, storage, packing, wrapping, exposure for sale,  service or delivery of food),  any trade or business  for the purpose of which any person engages in the handling of food, and includes the undertaking of a canteen, club, school, hospital or  institution, whether carried on for profit or not.

Requirements  to Operate:

a) Application for Food Business Licence

b) Medical  certificates for all staff

   

The licence issued is valid until its anniversary  date one year later.
