What is an Offensive Trade and what are the requirements for operation?

Health Services (Offensive Trades) Regulations , 1969

​

Offensive Trades means  any trades , businesses or manufacturers in:

  • Blood or offal boiling

  • Bone boiling or crushing

  • Chemical or acid making

  • Fellmongering

  • Glue making

  • Gut spinning

  • Gut Scraping

  • Manure manufacturing

  • Slaughtering

  • Soap boiling

  • Tallow melting

  • Tanning

 

Requirements  to Operate:

a) Application Offensive Trades Licence

b) Medical  certificates for all staff   

 

A licence is valid until the 31st day of December next after the date of issue.
