Auxiliary Services
Voluntary Counselling and Testing
The Counsellor operates under the guidelines of the professional standards within the Ministry of Health's Code of Practice for Psychosocial Practitioners in HIV Care (2013). Adherence to the principles and standards set out is crucial to improving the quality of prevention strategies, care, treatment and support services of clients.
Services provided by the Counsellor through the HIV/AIDS Programme:

Counselling and testing for HIV, Syphilis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea in the polyclinic or community setting

HIV Testing and Counselling (HTC) services and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) services at the U.W.I Health Clinic

Psychosocial support for persons living with HIV (PLHIV) i.e linkage to care, adherence support, food bank referrals etc.

Other services and/or interventions including:

Referrals for Welfare assistance

Housing assistance

Management of mental health and substance abuse.

Mondays 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. (Testing)
Tuesdays 2.45 p.m. - 4.00 p.m. (Appointments only)
Wednesdays 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. (Testing)

Services are provided by appointment or on a walk-in basis on Mondays and Wednesdays.
