In Case of a Psychiatric or Mental Health Emergency

If you or another person have tried to harm or kill yourself by such means as taking an overdose, â€‹drinking a harmful liquid, attempted hanging or cutting yourself with deep wounds:

 

Call one of the following for advice and assistance:

  • Police - 211

  • Emergency Ambulance Service - 511

  • Accident and Emergency Department, Queen Elizabeth Hospital 435-6450

  • Assessment Unit, Psychiatric Hospital 536-3091

 

Also do the same if the person is confused, disoriented and erratic, or having strange behaviour, whether under the influence of alcohol or drugs or not.
